Mixing exhaust brands

Alright, I've been looking at exhaust here and there. One scenario that I've thought of was buying catback from one manufactuer and downpipe and hfc from another.

I'd like people to post here your particular setup(not I heard, but yours or a friend's setup is fine too) of mixing different manufacturers with your exhaust setup. Specifically if you needed to modify certain aspects of it to have a good fit or if it didn't work at all and you needed look at another manufacturer, or maybe it was perfect. Any modification/tweak you needed to perform is good info. This can include stock parts as well. In theory how they say they make them should work, but in practice is not always the case.

So for example, one scenario for me(that i'm considering):
Cobb catback
AMS downpipe
AMS hfc

The main reason for the thread is to know ahead of time if something won't work, or you just need to work a little magic....makes things a lot easier if you know ahead of time what needs to be done if anything.

You have to be careful. We make our products to be a direct replacement for the OEM exhaust, Test Pipe and Downpipe. Some companies make the downpipe and test pipes slightly longer and only work with there product correctly, they may bolt up with our exhauts but they could cause rattling or poor fitment.

Good Luck!

Michael

Any more people, would love to get a good list compiled, though so far most companies seem to be mixing well.

No issues. Will add AMS Cast DP in the future which should also have no issues.

You should be fine as the AMS Cat + DP are supposed to bolt right up to an OEM system. Likewise, the Cobb exhaust is supposed to bolt right up to the factor Cat/DP.

I've got the ETS V2 Extreme and my AMS TP & AMS DP will be arriving tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be installed on Friday morning.
As far as fitment, I don't think I have anything to worry about, but I'll let you know .
