I need more stuff!

Ok, I just bought the following for my 2010 evo x gsr...

- AGP front mount intercooler
- AEM Cold Air Intake
- Agency Power Dual Catback Exhaust

What else do I need to get to make sure I am getting the most out of the above items before I head in for my tuner to tune the car?

- upper or lower intercooler pipe?
- downpipe?
- bigger fuel injectors?
- turbo timer?
- other?

i am trying to get the most out of the stock turbo i can at this time...

Thanks for the info guys!

Get everything you listed minus the turbo timer. Instead get a boost controller and a fuel pump to go with those fuel injectors. Also a high flow cat, intake mani, and exhaust mani couldn't hurt.

Do you have any recommended brands/items for each of those things you suggested?

Thanks!

Yes of course. I believe that Buschur racing, ETS, and AMS are leading the way right now in terms of performance parts. For the fuel pump, most go with a walbro 255. As for the Intercooler piping, choose any of the three manufacturers i listed earlier. The milspec high flow cat is a 100 cell cat, making it one of the highest flowing cats available. As for fuel injectors, i dont have a brand for you, but i can tell you that 1000cc's are the size to buy, just in case you want to switch to e85 later. Search around the forums to find the best parts available and don't let anyone tell you to buy something just because they have it. Do some research, read through thorough reviews to find the best.

On the stock turbo, unless you're going to run e85, you won't need bigger injectors or a fuel pump. Do the IC pipes (upper is more important on the X), a high flow cat or test pipe, o2 downpipe, and whatever kind of boost controller your tuner likes to run (mine STRONGLY prefers 3-ports over MBC's). Those things plus a tune should make you pretty happy

No, I wont be running e85, I just assumed that tuning the stock turbo to a higher psi would require bigger injectors.

So if I am to make a new list this is what i think people are saying:

- High Flow Cat
- AMS Upper Intercooler Pipe
- AMS Widemouth Downpipe

and maybe fuel injectors/fuelpump...

+Tuner suggested boost controller

anything else that would be truly worth the money on stock turbo?

For stock turbo.

- Full turbo back.
- intake
- UICP only. LICP is useless upgrade since the stock one is so good already.
- oil catch cans

skip the injectors and pump on stock turbo.

get a boost controller if that is what your tuner suggest. but a 3 port is the way to go if he is willing to tune it for you.

MAP o2 elim downpipe
megan testpipe
some sort of UICP (I like the nisei)

Stock LICP is fine but if you're doing the UICP and FMIC already....

Stock injectors are fine
stock fuel pump is mostly fine, but a walbro + install kit is great insurance IMHO.

last but very very most important--3-port bcs + a tune!

Oh also, after all of the above, the best bang/buck on the stock turbo is to have it turned into a CBRD BBX or BBX Lite. Still stock turbo, right? :P

Well I am going to be doing autoX so I am not sure if even a FP red is needed.

My thoughts where that if i upgraded to a larger turbo, i would have to overhaul my suspension to keep my speed up, otherwise turbo lag would kill me....

If you have the AGP intercooler get AGP's intercooler pipe. It matches the outlet size of the intercooler and relocates the BOV, cleans up the engine bay a bit.

It's the cold pipe that matches the 3" intercooler outlet not the hot side, my bad

Intercooler piping, the rest of the exhaust parts (O2 downpipe, testpipe), grimspeed 3-port, and tune. You can prolly wait in injectors and fuel pump. The stock fuel system is actually pretty decent..

Don't get a turbo timer. Don't get a manual boost controller, get the grimspeed like I said.
