Turbo question *noob*

Ha alright by next summer ill be upgarding my turbo alone with a full exhaust and a few other things to make around 400-450whp. My question is what to go with, FP Green or the GT3582R? I like too make that power with out going crazy is the motor is going to blow hahaha. What are the difference and some help on ideas on getting to the number of hp i want.

This winter mods:
ETS Intake
AMS Tune

This summer:
Turbo
Turbo back Exhaust
Fuel pump
Maybe injectors (if needed)
Tune

Completely different turbos there buddy. The Green is a stock frame turbo with quick spool and maybe the potential to hit 400whp with the right supporting mods, such as cams, turbo manifold, etc.

GT3582 is big and laggy. Lot of power though. You will definitely need a turbo manifold that fits with it and all the supporting mods.

There's no "maybe injectors if needed" in this build. You HAVE to have larger injectors for either of the turbos you want.

You might want to take it slow and build piece by piece to get used to the power. I think either would be too much for you right now.

Thank you for the reply but i had a 335i before and hitting close to 400hp on the dyno, i know its a different car but the power thing shouldnt hurt me . Would i need to upgrade the motor (rods, crank etc) is i were to go with the GT3582? Thx again for your info i know you stuff

From what I've seen around the forums, you'll be able to hit a little over 400 hp with the FP Green but will need all the right supporting mods. You def won't be up to 450 from what I've seen though. Maybe you should look more towards the FP Red? Easier to attain the #s you want.

I've heard your engine doesn't blow (aka rods flying. LOL) until you've exceeded 450 lbs of torque. I don't know if it's true, but that's what I heard. That's a lot of torque nonetheless. :-)

For your GT35 desires, here you go: http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...Turbo-Kit.html

Just add intake, fuel pump, tuner recommended sized injectors, upgraded intercooler, and tune.

For your stock frame quick spool turbo desires choose from: FP Green, MAP EF2, or CBRD BBX Lite.
Add intake, fuel pump (255 or 300lph), 1000cc injectors, turbo manifold, intercooler and pipes, and tune. You can add cams if you want more. Again go with what you're tuner is more comfortable tuning.

I think anything exceeding 360 wtq has the potential to throw a rod depending on the driving.

No, not that low for sure! That's way too low. If you said 400 torque, I'd believe you, but not 360....

No I think he is right. I have heard that magic number of 360 somewhere from a reputable tuner. Maybe AMS or someone of their likes. I know it sounds crazy since we already have 300 from the showroom, but that is what they said.. wish I could find where i saw that, but it's out there.

Really? Wow! I just bought a BBK Full and am on E85. I'll be pushing 400+hp and I'm sure my torque will be somewhere near there after the install. I thought I was in the clear because of what I heard earlier, but now I'm cautious. I will ask my tuner.
