Ok, so I've just hit 72k miles and my car started doing this the other day, so I parked it immediately. When I turn while the car is moving (left or right), I hear a loud metallic "POP" from the front and feel a "clicking" in the steering wheel. Once the car is going perfectly straight again it goes away. I first started noticing this while slowing down to make a u-turn.

Last month I noticed a similar (but much less noticeable) noise coming from the rear while I was turning in reverse. And it only did it while in reverse (and you couldn't "feel" the popping, like I do now)

Also, I've had an awc and 4wd system service req'd light come on over the past couple of months (only once each). The awc one went away on its own, and I deleted the 4wd System light and it never came back.

The top 2 codes are unrelated to this issue.

The U0431 was pulled after the second light came on. The first light that came on was "awc" light that came on after I did a WOT pull, but soon went away.

After deleting the U0431 code, it never came back under any condition. The next thing I noticed anything was when I slowed down for a U-turn and heard a loud popping/jerking. Drove (about half a mile) home and parked it immediately.
