engine turbo combo recommendations please

I am about to buy an ERL bb4 bored and stroked motor. its the 2.4 l 88 bore / 97 stroker.
its 9.5:1 comp so it will have decent power down low.

I am going to have the heads built with a new cam - gsc power division xs 1
behive springs and titanium retainers with new 1 mm valves.
upgrading 340 lphj fule pump and 980 cc injectors

I would like to make 500 whp on 93 octane.

will an efr 4 or gtx3076r stock frame with 94mm housing do the job?

I also dont want to grenade the motor.

I have an sst in it which I will be upgrading the clutch in.

this is my first motor build. my current motor threw a rod this week. I believe due to a bad tune but not sure yet. tuner told me fuel ratios were fine and trim was only 5% even though too lean code kept coming on as well as map too high. redynoed and said not to worry about it. that was 15000 miles ago. who knows. it had 17k miles on it. was tuned to 325 whp with simply a hi8gh flow ams cat, ams intake, hard upper ic pipe and an ams turbo inlet pipe, and a new boost contrller and sycnchronic bov.

I have heard a stock frame turbo will fall over at the top end. I TT the car from time to time with nasa and auto x it occasionally but its mostly my dd.

all input is welcome and appreciated.

How much are you paying for cams and bee hive springs. I am looking to do the same.

ERL is a great motor and with the 2.4 the gtx3076 should do the job but I have seen a set up close to this one done with a FP Black, Biggest worry is your tuner the right tuner will make the night a day difference the motor will be very , very strong and a gtx3076 size turbo with the right supporting mods should make close to 500whp safe.

I have GSC S2 cams in my otherwise stock internals engine. I am at 8k redline. With a built (or sleeved) block, I could get 9k rpms and 30psi out of the stock turbo. I recommend the S2 cams and 1mm oversized Ferrea valves and a multi angle valve job, especially if this is all going to be apart. Cams & springs were about &800, valves are $285ish.

EF4 is a top end turbo. The EF 2.5 can max out at 500awhp on an E85 tune, so I recommend a CBRD BBX Full ported, MAP EF3 ported, or the FP Black on pump gas. Any bigger and your lag is going to **** you off in city driving. The lopey cams on the stock turbo still make the car want to stall at stop signs and red lights, so if the lag is greater, you're gonna be mad lol

Oh and once you cam the car, you cant let it idle with the A/C or defroster on. It will stall. Only face/floor will work.
