What to expect with light weight fly wheel?

My clutch started slipping these days (45K miles). I autocross every month for years so this is about time to replace it. I am deciding whether or not to replace the fly wheel with a new stock one or a aftermarket light weight piece.
I understand a light weight wheel will make the car rev more freely. Considering I autocross a lot, need a lot instant low end torque. Wondering what I should expect with a light weight fly wheel. Will it change characters of the torque curve? Will I loose more low torque? Will light weight fly wheel hurt autocross? Is re-using the original stock fly wheel a bad idea? Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Sammy

not sure about autocross but lightweight flywheel will allow you to rev faster (less weight of course), downside is the clutch control. more difficult to engage and will cause greater wear and tear depending on how you engage the clutch. Ive changed my clutch to an exedy stage1 as my stock went out, i resurfaced my stock flywheel, feels pretty much like stock but just a tad bit harder to engage, not that noticeable.

also depending on the condition of your flywheel you might not be able to resurface it, considerring you autocross alot, probably better off with an aftermarket flywheel anyways. just my thoughts
