Oem is good. I’ve used Oem and Mobil one filters. Farm Ultra, Bosch, And KN. They all work. I tend to like the M1 filter.

On my stock setup I used the extended performance M1 filters and never had any issues. I used that and the extended performance oil as well, but just changed at normal 3K miles intervals. Comparison between normal M1 and the Ext Perf at similar milage showed the ext perf oil was holding up noticeably better.

I should probably also add Buschur Racing recommend the Wix filter for my built engine and Brad Penn, the green oil (which is Penn Grade now), 10w40 in the winter and 20w50 in the summer. But I certainly wouldn't run those viscosities on the stock engine.

i read an article a few days ago that said Royal Purple is the best all around oil filter. 100% synthetic material, high flow rate, super efficient, strong build... mobile 1 and the Wix were both high on the list as well. The factory filter is actually pretty good too.
Honestly any of them should be fine, Mobile 1, Wix, Royal Purple, stock Mitsubishi... as long as you do your oil changes at the correct interval.

The nice thing I like about WIX is you can pick one up just about anywhere. I get them through work for like $5
