New Evo X and clutch

I just purchased a 14 Evo X that has been modded. I sold my 08 Evo X, drove it for about 8 years completely stock. When egaging first gear from a stop, I'd feather the clutch a bit and let catch. Easy peasy.

The new car I try the same thing and it rocks, shutters, shakes pretty badly. This is at 1.5k rpm or thereabouts. The only way I can smoothly get into 1st is letting the clutch out with no gas. When I'm fully engaged it business as usual.

So my question(s) is...

Is the clutch damaged and needs repair?
Or is it possibly just a "grabby" performance clutch and I need to learn how to drive stick again?

could be a puck style clutch? sounds like a performance clutch. i remember when i had my integra i put the exedy stage 2, 3 puck clutch on and it did that until i got used to it, then i went back to exedy full face after. then the teg got stolen...... then i got the EVO!!! but sounds like a performance clutch. try for a few more days and see if you get used to it or it "goes away".

So I did some more testing and I'm fairly certain it's upgraded. I need to just give it more gas and less feathering really. It wants to 'bite' pretty hard. The clutch peddle is noticeably stiffer. All the other gears are perfect. I can slip into 2nd gear no problem from a stop.

I'm getting it tuned next week!

Here are the mods from what I can tell:
ETS intake
ETS UICP
ETS LICP
Turbosmart BOV
Injector Clinic injectors
Swift lowering springs
single high flow cat w/ 3" exhaust and a pretty sizable "muffler" (pardon my newbie speak)
Cobb tuner - current map says 'duel'

thoughts?
