Has anyone tried this product?

Yea got them on the car for a while now. First impression was the engine ran smoother, I think there might be a slight power increase but hardly noticeable.
I'll see what it can do with a retune, after getting my car fixed :crap:

got it via maperformance when i got my fp red, fuel system, cams.... installed 2 months ago;therefore do not know if the ignition is working or not.

got it for the peace of mind that i have the ignition system taken care of.

Did anyone trigger any code after installation? (ie: P1238).

From what i read, this device works well but you will need a retune. Depending on what boost/power you are already making, adding this device may exceed the torque limit capacity and throw out a code. Did you guys run into similar situation?

seven_227 Jun 15, 2009 11:52 AM

Nope no codes, but my car was already tuned when I put them in, didn't re-tune after though.

yeah, I had an code thrown I guess but I don't have a engine code reader but the engine service light had went off. In any case, I guess it took awhile for my ecu to calibrate according to the coil packs....but the service light went out. I had seen better gas milage and noticed a smoother power band when accelerating since I installed this.

Hmmm, I'd say that the factory EvoX COPs (coil on plug) should support quite a lot of power. I am familiar with Okada COPs. They are pretty popular on the Subaru cars that I tune too. No real data for you though. I'd say if you wanted to experiment with pushing the gap out a bit further or you wanted to make big power then the aftermarket COPs would be a good idea.

Did you guys install new set of spark plugs when putting this in? if so, which ones are you running with?

tmarcel Jun 17, 2009 09:08 AM

Not much available for plugs at this time. NGK makes an expensive *race* version of a plug that works on the EvoX but they are $$$.

MAS2377TECH Jun 17, 2009 09:13 AM

I didn't buy any new plugs yet. Maybe later on I'll get some HKS plugs but right now I have the stock plugs.

LVSBB6 Jun 17, 2009 09:22 AM

What is the part number you mentioned for NGK?

There are also HKS plugs and Brisk Silver plugs for our cars.
