Just installed parts and now I'm bogging BAD!!
I just installed a greedy Intercooler, cobb hard pipe kit, ssqv ver. 4 and aem intake. Car starts up a little sluggish, when I'm in first and pulling off the car will bog down and almost seem to stall, I'll give it a little more gas and the bogging remains. As the car accelerates more I move into second and third and so forth but the bogging and near stall remains. Once in5th it seems to go away for the duration of my trip except when I get to a light it will idle at 2000 rpm and stay that way until I turn the car off. Once the car is off and I start it back up the same process starts all over again. I hit the ac just to see what would happen and I bogged up to 5th gear and it ran fine once in 5th, but now the idle was normal- around 1000 rpm.
I have no tune because trying to find a tuner in Oklahoma is trying to find a needle in a haystack. BOV is not recirculated at the moment (they forgot to out it in the box whe. It shipped) Ive read tons of threads with similar problems on here but just wanted to know if there was anything I could do....any suggestions I'm all ears Thanks... |
Get rid of that BOV and your issues will be solved. Get a Cobb AP and run an OTS tune if you don't have a good local tuner and aren't willing to drive to one. Or, just drive down to Plano, TX and get protuned by Cobb.

No real risks other than your car running too rich and running like crap. If you're waiting on parts still just take it off and put the stock one back in.

These guys are right, car will run like crap until you install the recirc. kit. Evo's aren't set from the factory to vent to the atmosphere.

Damn I was hoping it wasn't the BOV...recirculate kit should be here Tuesday but int he mean time are there risks to driving it this way?
If your idle is at 2k though it sounds like it could be the fuel pressure regulator hose popped off possibly as well...just something to check. If that did happen then there is a very real risk of major damage if you continue driving it that way, it causes an extremely lean condition. You'd definitely want a tune if you're running the AEM intake because if I'm not mistaken it uses a significantly larger housing so once you ditch the BOV it could potentially be running lean with that and the hard pipes. |
