Starter won't turn off!
 

This afternoon I went to my local autozone to have a check engine light read (p0133). After I left I noticed a strange noise but kept going because I only live two blocks away. When I got home I realized the noise was my starter turning over. I shut the car off and it kept turning over and at this point was smoking pretty bad. It only stopped when I disconnected to battery. Now everytime I connect the battery it starts to turn over.

Has anyone ever had an issue like this? I called English Racing and they suggested it is probably the starter solenoid getting stuck or a wire crossed somewhere.

"check wires" maybe a short somewhere

Suggestions on where to check? Is there any way the little code scanner thing could have caused this?
