Yikes that does sound bad.

I start simple first. Look for any metal on metal exhaust, drive shaft, brakes etc...

From there your looking at a Trans TC issue and $$$$

One thing that we cant tell from the video is the effect on the vehicle. When it starts grinding and making that noise, are you sensing increased vibrations in the car? Any shuddering? Hesitation?

Randy321 Nov 18, 2012 08:53 AM

There was no vibrations or anything but i was on the way to a friends shop to put it on a lift and i heard a loud clank and the whole car studdered and slowed down im waiting for a tow to the dealership as i type this. The car became hard to move and it cannot reverse. The tranny is fine but just can't back up its like something is holding it. I think its my transfer case or my driveshaft :/. Hopefully it gets covered under warranty. Im stock with an air filter and cutback exhaust.

Showbizz41 Nov 18, 2012 03:26 PM

Yikes! Sounds like a transfer case issue... I myself jacked up my ring n pinion in the T case. Had to buy a new one from Shep. How many miles, how many times have you changed the fluids?
