What's the purpose of changing ATF in rear diff?

The drain/fill ATF portion in the rear diff is separate from the AYC/ADC hydraulic ATF system. The hydraulic portion does not require frequent maintenance.

Do you have any official or technical material on this?

Since Kracka already answered the main question, I have a question of my own.

It seems in the NW we don't have a problem with the ACD going out like NE does. Supposedly it has to do with temps (we get cold here too just not as cold) and possibly NE using salt on roads (we use gravel). If it is salt / cold related, wouldn't it be wise to change out the ACD fluid a bit more often to prevent internal corrosion / breakdown?

I would think abuse from the track would be considerably more taxing on the fluid than cold weather and salt used on the roads.

And I'm not totally convinced by Kracka's answer to my question.

I found my answer. This thread can be closed or deleted since it's useless.
