Can't decide on Intake >.< Trying to get some votes!
Hey all,
My plan here is to do intake + AP and a stage 1 Cobb map. I really like the look of the Takeda intake, but cobb doesn't support it :[ ...The AEM is a nice looking intake, but the K&N and Injen come with the UICP... I want the gain obviously, but also the sound. I love the sound of a nice intake. Which did you guys go with, which works best wit the AP cobb maps (other than the COBB intake of course :p) I've looked up some threads on here about intakes, but it's just everyone rattling off the intake they got (and there's so many to choose from between CAI and SRI) So just trying to get some votes for gains + sound AEM K&N with UICP Injen with UICP Thanks guys! |
None. I'd get the ETS intake kit

I bought the injen intake because it came with UICP and was supported by the Cobb ap. I have no regrets with my purchase; it looks great, sounds awesome, and best of all it had a nice power gain. And to top it off, it was a very easy install.

No intakes other than the Cobb SF intake are officially supported by the recent Cobb OTS tunes, if that's the deciding factor of your purchasing decision.

I have the K&N setup with the Cobb Accessport. Ran Stage 1 then Stage 2 for almost 2 years with no problem and good power (and good gas mileage). I just use the Cobb SF map.
The K&N has a functional heat shield which ties into the factory snorkel and a decent sized intercooler pipe. I never had the stumbling issue that some intakes had without the heat shield and I like the way it looks. The only reason I wouldn't get it is if you were getting a bigger MAF tube, but then again you would need to do a custom tune and you would probably be getting a really big turbo on the car anyways so the cost of an intake probably wouldn't matter on a build like that. |
ETS intake.

Of the three you listed: K&N
Also look into AFE's, which is what I personally have. |
I would go with ETS :) If you need Cobb maps, talk to the guys at English Racing. They have tuned a TON of cars with our products and can provide e-tunes from mild to wild!

Michael I've been super happy with all ETS parts, the intake is a work of art. It uses a K&N cone filter, so super easy to maintain. I'm not sure if English lets you download their maps, but give them a call and ask, they're really nice guys. |
ETS all the way
