Like another poster said, the STI has traditionally been more expensive. Plus, the STI has a bunch of stuff in stock form that the GSR doesn't, so that's going to account for some price difference. The more accurate comparison is going to be is STI vs. GSR+SSS package.

I think you're in for a surprise, though. With the base GSR being sold at an equivalent price of $29.5k US in Japan and markup traditionally in the $3k-$5k range, if you think we're going to be getting one for $30k you're going to be seriously disappointed IMO.

here goes...I'll add to the rumor mill..even though I usually stay out of these type posts.

I stopped by a local dealership, who told me he had 18 EVO's on order for January, 17 GSR's and 1 MR.

Base GSR price was 30-32K.

Again, who knows what is true or not, time will tell. I will be hopefully rejoining the fold once again, after a few yr hiatus.

I had an Evo VIII until I got my current beast..Audi RS6. Awesome ride, but I'm ready to switch. So. I'm looking at the Evo and STI..or even possibly picking up a IX if I don't like either.

Have a great week/end all!!!

JR

Exactly what I heard as well. 30-32K "low 30's" for a GSR. I'm picking up an X in Jan. Lucky for me blue doesn't seem to be a popular color.

Well, I have other motivations financially. Maintaining a 90K car can be notoriously expensive..esp an Audi as the yrs tick by. Not that I've had any issues, because the car has been awesome, with no issues, right down to no squeaks or rattles etc.

I'll put my money elsewhere for a bit, then in a few yrs, I'd like to pick up a GT3

But even so, I still say my previous Evo was the most fun out of any car I've owned. I haven't driven a IX, but from what is being said about them, they are bada** as well.

So, I'll hold serve until I could get some seat time in the X and STI and go from there. Until then, I'll enjoy the rumble of the biturbo V8.

Have a great one!!

I love that blue, but one dealer i have my name with hasn't even ordered any blues.

NCevo, not interested in the new biturbo 580hp V10?

Well, all rumors thus far say no dice for the RS6 in the US. I would really want the avant version too, which is most likely a no go for the US, even if they do bring the RS6 over. I really wanted the previous version avant with the titanium package..or an RS4 avant w/titanium. Heck, an RS3 would have been awesome too. Gotta love wide fenders!!!! Oh well.

The US gets the shaft on the majority of the good stuff, but at least we've finally have some version of these rally bred beasts.

***Could you imagine pulling up to someone, who has no clue, with a 600 hp wagon.. now that would be priceless. Heck I do that now with my sedan. Seems everyone wants to beat up on the guy with the dual exhaust A6.
