Evo X at the 1/4 mile stock 3600 Feet above sea level

Just wanted to no what you guys thought. Took my Evo X (STOCK) yesterday to the track. Area 51 speed way at Rowsell, NM. First time ever driving an evo at the track only owned the car for a month. Car has 1100 miles. I ran two 13.6 and two 13.5 best time was
60 FT ------1.9839
330 FT------5.6348
1/8 ET------8.6969
1/8 MPH---81.06 MPH
1/4 ET-----13.5056 MPH
1/4 MPH---102.95

Not bad i dont think for a stock EVO X. I dont no which company rated this car at a 14.0 stock but there crazy. This car should run low 13s at sea level cuz i ran almost a 13.4 (first time with this car at the track) 3600ft above sea level. Best thing was i went agains a hooked up camaro SS and spanked him lol He ran a 13.8.

O ya just bought ever bolt on AMS offered and waiting on the O2 housing with downpipe with a boost controler so as soon as i get them installed ill give you an up date. I am expecting to run mid 12s.

That Camaro SS will still have a solid clutch in a month though...

You should start looking for a new one... you can only make so many passes dumping or even slipping before your 13.4 turns into a (**** dude I need a tow truck)

That 103 mph trap speed is pretty good for a 3700 lb race weight vehicle at 3600 ft above sea leve, espicially since it's stock.

Get the short times into the 1.7x's and it will go 13.1-13.0 at the end of the track. Probably need a clutch to do it though. Cut a couple hundred pounds out and it's a 12.8-12.9 car.

Agreed about the trap speed being impressive considering the car's weight and conditions. I would have expected 98 - 100 for this car.

Nice run man. Glad to see people putting numbers, they are a bit more interesting than peoples theories on why it should/shouldn't be faster.

I ran last night and managed to get a 13.9 @ 102 MPH with a 2.4xx 60... my clutch is pretty much GONE! It was slipping when i engaged 2nd... o well.. lol. I am bone stock as well, including full weight and air filter.

That time was on my 3rd run. I ran on first run @99 MPH with my DAMN ASC on... lol, i was like WTF why did i get fuel cut... heh. 2nd run was 14.4 @ 101mph and a 2.6xx '60, once again clutch just slipping. I let the car and clutch cool down for the third run and i got to hold the best on that run... i'm tellin you the clutch in this car (atleast mine) is just horrid... you can feel the clutch slipping when you shift fast into the next gear because of the dumb restrictor pill! Will put in a new clutch this week and go out to see if i can get a better baseline run.. heh. On my VIII i managed to pull 13.7 @ 98MPH when it was stock (with act 2600 clutch).. i deff think the X will top that with a clutch that will hold. I'm thinking low 13s with a good clutch, stock everything else.

Thanks bro. I was actually pretty impressed with it. Alot of people have been talking down on this car talking about they wont get out of 14s in the 1/4. Also this car weights 3500lbs and the MRs are 3600.

Time slips are always appreciated man. It stops all the naysayers from getting out of hand. You should also post it to dragtimes.com so we can have a history of stock runs. Great runs!

I'd like to see a time slip as well. I'm not one to call B.S. but it seems kinda fast. I ran three 12.8's at Englishtown in New Jersey and I had some bolt-0ns and a tune on my IX making good power. Now given my car was trapping only 106 and my tuner Sean Ivey expected more like 110's or so but it was God awful hot and humid. By the way, my 60' times were in the 1.77 range. Again I'm not calling you a liar, nice time by the way.
