Evo X A Pillar Gauge Pod
The rex speed on is garbage and hangs on there with 3m tape. I have heard people having nothing but issues with it. The AMI gauge pod is $209 but if you don't send in a core they will charge you 60 bucks for a stock OEM a Pillar and they take forever to produce them. The DSG was about $255 after all was said and done including shipping, they will be making batches of them. The DSG is an OEM A pillar with fiberglass done by hand do there is no issues with fitment since it's a stock A Pillar.
Have you seen Rexpeed's CF A pillar pod?
I'm wondering if that will have any effect on the airbag as well.
Obviously, their full A pillar is garbage (thanks to this thread, I know now)...
I'm going to shoot an e-mail to Rexpeed and see...
but figured I might as well ask in this thread.
As long as the pillar (whichever type you have) has the hook in the rear that attaches to the frame, it will be fine. If you use a pillar without that hook and the airbags go off, the pillar will come flying at you. If you have the rexpeed pillar or cf pods and they are 3m taped on. Make sure its strong tape, otherwise they could come off and fly at you as well.
dsg must have lost their mind charging $560 for an evox dual pod gauge a-pillar

He is going to be a merchant on here in the very near future. I did a review of his work under the vendor review when he was teamed up with LOWPROaero.

i picked up the rexspeed guage pod for like $60, and it looks great, parents thought it came like that stock cause the color matches up pretty well. i wouldnt recommend 3m tape because in the heat its going to start to sagg down from the weight on the top, you can either drill a few holes or just get it revitted up on the top corner under the weather stripping
-Needle nose pliers are for removing the heavy plastic strap that secures the top of the pillar to the car sub frame. The ratchet and 10 mm are for disconnecting the battery negative..
-Remove negative terminal from battery with ratchet and 10 mm socket. Since you will be working next to the curtain airbags it is a good idea to unhook the battery.
-Remove the door trim panels on the drivers side, pull were my hands are located upward to release the clips.
-This is how far you need to remove the weatherstripping, it is not glued in, just pressed in, it can be easily removed and installed hundreds of times.
