Blind Spots: OEM Mirrors

I am sure all X owners have noticed the way the two OEM mirrors obscure the view of the road, especially turning left, due to their large size. You may have also noticed that the original X prototype had significantly smaller side mirrors which unfortunately did not make it to production.
My question is does anyone know a source for side replacement mirrors of similar design to X prototype but still retains mirror adjustment controls using OEM wiring?

I've not had any problems with visibility as you describe (then again, I'm all torso, so the low mounted seats work great for me).

The only visibility issue I have is the wing out back makes it hard to check my 6 for bogeys!

I have had problems with the piller + side mirror combo. They have hidden entire cars and people from my view resulting in a few close calls. Id like to know if there is another side mirror option as well.

APR has some CF options out there....and a couple JDM options as well. I agree- you can get a Taurus to hide in the pillar/mirror.
someone buy them and let us know!

I'm also not too comfortable with the left mirror. I would have preferred a larger area coverage (as I'm used to with other cars). But I think, I managed to adjust it, so it's not too bad.
I believe HKS are offering some replacement mirrors. They have lots of carbon, but I'm not sure how functional they are.

Uh...I know its kinda "ghetto" but get some of those stick on convex circular mirros. I know it looks a little tacky but, I must admit, I'm going to get a set so that a) I don't accidentally curb my rims (you can clearly see the back wheel/curb with them), and b) it really widens view area beside/behind. Couple bucks at any auto-shop.

^^ Thats a good idea to help spare curbing the rims. But the pillar/mirrors creates a blind spot in front of the car, not behind or beside it.

I concur. Every morning at the top of my hill I'm always worried about missing a car coming when turning left. The mirrors are just too damn big.

I agree with this 100%. I think it is more of a problem for short ****'s like myself (5'5). I come from an VIII and this mirror is much longer plus the seat seems lower. My left arm used to be able to lean down onto the window in the VIII, but now I have to hold it up in the X. I think the problems arise from the common chassis with the Dodge Charger (and maybe others if I remember right).

I remember those prototype mirrors and they were much shorter. I would be very interested in those if available, in PB please.
