Have you seen the problems the new STis are having with the paint in front of the rear wheels? Looks like it's been sand blasted.

I also had my paint peel at the 'point' on the passenger side. Dealer took the bumper off and touched it up under warranty. They also did a **** poor job of it. Have to take the car back to get it re-painted and have the bumper aligned properly. Almost wish I had just said F it and live with it.

Anyone find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue with the paint peeling in between the seams. I think it's a bad design flaw where the bumper doesn't have enough clearance. It's literally grinding against the bumper and quarter panel. I was thinking about finding maybe a rubber spacer to give it some clearance. Let me know what you think.

Let's not get off topic people. I could care less about the quality of other manufacturer's paint. The main topic on this thread is my concern. I wouldn't be surprised if ALL Evo X's are affected by this.

Did they happen to pop your hood while they where looking at the bumper to see if you have been modded? Because i really dont want to take my stuff off.

Nope they looked at what they needed to look at and then they went in the back to look at the evo x's in the lot. I overheard them saying could be from packaging when shipping and they approved for a touch up paint job which looks great. So props to the Mitsu reps fixing this problem with no hassle for me.
They also took a few pictures of the bumper after it was painted, so this might be there way of fixing the problem for us because they def. know now!

Has nothing to do with the paint, genius.
The way the quarter panel is fitted to the bumper is what's pinching the paint. It doesn't matter if it's Honda paint or Mitsu paint...if its pinched the way it is...it's going to wrinkle up like you see in the pics.

Exactly, that is why my second bumper is starting to peel. They took my car for 2 days to replace the rear bumper last time. I think I'll just be satisfied with touch up paint this time.
