So who here has had an Evo X shipped out of California to whatever destination? I'm looking to get one sent from South Coast to Chicago and I have a few options at this point.. one of them being flying out there and driving it back... easy way to control all break-in miles.

As for delivery companies, anybody have any horror stories or advice on who to go with? I'm assuming it's going to run me $600-900?

You have to sell your trade at a local used car dealer (expect to get bent over on it). You use that cash as a down payment. Keep in mind that if you actually did a trade and not a down payment, then the trade value is not taxed (where a downpayment IS taxed). If any local dealers have any X's but are not budging on price, just go in, show you're motivated, have quotes from other dealers, and push them to meet your terms. They might need some real world education first, but just don't be a jerk about it and they'll work with you

kind of a late post (got my car in april) but i think i got a good deal.

traded in my 03 viii with 96K on the odometer and some damage on the body. other than the cosmetics, my car was solid. they (thomason in fairfield, ca) gave me $12.5K for it and knocked off $9.6K of the sticker for a 08 MR X with nav and aero kit. only thing is that the car had over a 100 miles on the odometer. apr is high @ 7% but going to pay more than my monthly to reduce my total interest payment amount. i just hope that the high mileage on the car at delivery doesn't bite me later...

"The price for a GSR SSS with Aero kit is $29,598.00 + tax & lic.after $2000 rebate. That price does not qualify for 0%."

"Yes, *my name* this car is still available and it is a base with aero. The pricing on this is $29,000 after $2000 manufactures rebate.
That price does not qualify for 0% fianceing, and we do ship but you have to provide your own shipping."

Both from Chris at Southcoast

I'm from Maryland and I didn't like the idea of shipping a car so I checked out some more local dealers.

"The MSRP on the Red Evolution I have found is $38,077 our Vaule Price will be $31,816. This price includes everything but taxes tags and title." (GSR with Aero) Also after all rebates and no 0%

From Fitzgerald in Annapolis.

And Finally I called a dealer in PA and they told me $29,860 with rebates and no 0% on a RR GSR with SSS.

I think I might check out the one in PA, I'd rather have Aero instead of SSS, but RR has always been my color of choice.

I bought a Apex Silver GSR with SSS/Navi/Aero for $10k below list plus the $500 loyalty rebate off as well no 0% financing from Serramonte, CA. I am here in CT and the cost to ship was $1,025. I ended up going with Safe Way Auto Transport, who seem to have a decent reputation, I suppose I will see this coming Wednesday or Thursday!

That means that they are offering you $33,500 before your trade. That's only $1,500 off MSRP. You should aim for at least $4,000 off MSRP.

For people sending me PM why I went with Serramonte and not HB/SC:

It's the price.

Serramonte: RR GSR SSS AERO $29,679
HB/SC: RR GSR SSS $30,799

Unfortunately, the only EVOs left in Serramonte have NAVI. I believe I got the last GSR without a NAVI.

When I left Serramonte last Saturday, Arnold said they only have 4 EVOs. Based on his email to 2-weeks ago, here's how their GSR inventory should look like:

2008 Mitsubishi GSR (If I am not mistaken, this was SOLD TO SOMEONE FROM OREGON, it was supposed to be a Father's Day gift to self but trucking company didnt show up in time. This was being kept in a locked 1-car garage at Serramonte)
Rally Red
SSS package w/ Aero Kit
MSRP: $37,654

2008 Mitsubishi GSR (SOLD TO expatevo) you beat me to it!!! lol
Apex Silver
SSS package, Navigation/ Aero Kit
MSRP: $39,678

2008 MItsuibshi GSR
Rally Red
SSS package, Aero kit/ Acc. Interior Sport Package
MSRP: $38,053

2008 Mitsubishi GSR (SOLD TO ME)
Rally Red
SSS Package w/ Aero Kit
MSRP: $37,679

2008 Mitsubishi GSR
Rally Red
SSS package w/ Aero Kit and Navigation
MSRP: $39,653

We are discounting them $8,000 OFF the MSRP price with 0% financing over 60 months or you can take an additional $2,000 rebate with regular financing.

We look forward to working with you!

Thank you,
Arnold

I believe there is one more MR left.
