Reading through the posts before I clicked the link, I was expecting the G8 GXP to get trounced. It doesn't. The test results are what I expected - GXP stomps the MR in a straight line, the MR blows it away in handling. The GXP stopping distances were a surprise though, especially considering its weight (although with some fad).
Edit - I was considering a G8 GT during my car shopping, but as a poster on the first page mentioned, horrible depreciation was enough of a concern to knock it off my list. It was a fun car to test-drive though!

good article. eventhough the comparison was like apples and oranges, but nevertheless, it's good to see how the evo X stacks up against the newer american muscle.

Because the MR is closer in price and equipment level than a GSR when compared to the G8 GXP.
To the OP thanks for posting that review. I was actually entertaining buying a G8 GXP before they came out but shyed away from it when a friend helped me realize that I'd pay $40K for it and in a couple of years the car would have no resale value. At least not what I would be willing to lose on a car that cost $40K.
