Yep. All of those stencils are spray paint not just the AMS one.

 

So one could just buy a can of spray paint and customize their intercooler? >.>

 

Yep. I wouldn't paint the entire thing as it will reduce it's ability to cool the air coming from the turbo, but there was a big debate in another thread about how much it actually affects the cooling efficency.

You could take a jpg of their logo from their site, or print the logo and go to a sign and banner shop and they could make you a stencil.

 

Why do a jpg of their site.. simply.. stencil the one that's already on there by tracing it and the respraying it..

However as you probably guessed it's only a matter of time before it happens again. Touch up spray paint seems like the best option.. It's quicker and it's much less time to make it look good. Just stick the sharpie or whatever through the mesh and repaint. I personally would probably remove the paint all together and simply get it polished to avoid the hassle every few months of repainting.

This can happen. It actually is not just spray paint but a self etching primer. It's pretty serious stuff. We cannot send out stencils because of lovely companies overseas that copy our products aesthetic appearance (not performance) and attempt to sell it as an AMS piece.

The paint marker idea works really well I am told. This is of course if you are not willing to send it in to be resprayed.

We do apologize but it's different for every person. I will say that you mentioned on the phone you go to an automatic car wash. STAY AWAY from places like this. They use very harsh acidic cleaners to clean the car quickly. If it is doing that to a metal etching primer imagine what it is doing to your clear coat.

Once all of our cores are converted over to cast end tanks with our logo embedded in them I think we might be able to offer this but so long as that is the only logo on the core we currently can't.

For all the R&D in this FMIC and the $800 or w/e price tag for this part you think they would put more R&D in the stencil so it doesnt flake off.

I would never get mine sprayed anyway. i like the clean look and i dont need to advertise for AMS for free. I will be getting this FMIC, dont get me wrong, its a great part.

I just think AMS fails for the stencil on this part.
