no more meth to lower intake charge temps and raise octane so it begins knocking.

motor might do something with the timing to minimize knocking but still not a good situation

yeah failsafe

the Aquamist kits have:
a) low tank level warning
b) under AND over flow failsafes

Combine that with an ECU that can switch maps and you have a pretty bulletproof solution...

I am sure other kits have the same setup, but Aquamist have been in this game for a long time and IMHO have the best kit...

ya, but i'm just pointing to a reason why meth kits can be "bad". i know these days it's pretty much outdated but it was one of the reasons why people cautioned against meth.

No offense, but I think you need to read up a little more on how they work. He just explained how water/meth injection helps the car and you are asking if that is good or bad? It's clear you need to read a few more articles on the subject. Otherwise, I suggest you don't use it if you don't know how it works.

Basically, water/meth will not affect your car in a negative way. The only way you can harm something is if the water/meth kit fails, or stops working, and you don't have failsafes installed. Then the damage is major....you could blow the engine.

But if the water/meth kit never stops working, you shouldn't have any issues. It's just like running higher octane gas. I ran a kit for 2 years on my VIII with no problems. I may get one for my X at some point in the future.

in case you don't understand, which im assuming you dont, water meth injection is sprayed as close to throttle body as possible in the LICP. it cools down the charged intake air temp. thus you tune for greater timing and higher levels of boost.

in your case, i would get rid of the cat and run water/meth.

I'm planning on getting a kit once I buy my X after the new year. Not meth but the smurf juice(windshield fluid). Check out pics of someone doing a build after using WI. The internals are much cleaner.
