let me know if you find a reputable place for less...maybe we can get a discount if we go together...if not, i will just pay the $400plus.

Definitely do all your drivetrain fluids by 30k. Spend a few bucks on some basic tools, read the factory service manual, and do it yourself. Anyone can do it, it really is as simple as drain then refill.

Not sure how many of you still have full warranty like myself, but it is possible for the dealership to claim neglect of vehicle if you skip your checkups. Now once again it depends on the dealership and the person you see. Coming from a service tech in my area he told me I was ok to keep receipts for proof of service. However it may not always work.... so you either pay the money to get your stuff done at the dealership (and get ripped off) or you do it yourself and take a chance of having them void your warranty from neglect...

What about the Active diff in the back?

I changed the rear diff fluid, but didn't touch the AYC section (ATF fluid) because my understanding is that it would have to be performed by the dealer and have a scan tool in place to properly bleed it.

Is this correct?

I am totally lost now, I don't want to spend money but the manual said to do this stuff. Help..

"inspect" means just that: hoses, pads, tires, ect... just stuff to make it look more expensive!
How exactly do they "check the fluids." Do they pop the fill plug, siphon some fluid, send it in for analysis? WTF? I say do your fluids at 30k for sure (I try to do mine around 15k). It won't hurt the car.

For those thinking of paying $400+ to the POS dealerships, it will cost less than $200 for the fluids if you stay OEM or ~$100 if you go AMSOil, and the work takes very little time and very few tools. DIY people!

If I'm not wrong, the 30K also includes the rear diff/AYC fluid change. There are two fluid swaps in the rear and at-least one of them requires the MUT tool to bleed if I'm not wrong.

rear diff at 30k is true. No special tool needed. I'd be surprised if the AYC needed more than an inspect (topoff, maybe check to see what the fluid looks like) at 30k, but I don't have to worry about that, so I wouldn't know. Check your owner's manuals to see what that shows.

where is a good place to order/buy all the fluids for the diffs and trans? I just bought my Evo X and it has 24k, but i dont know how the previous owner took care of it. its in really good shape but I rather do things myself and make sure. So i just bought some Mobil 1, K&N oil filter but i want to change all the other fluids since im down there anyways.

I would do it at a Motorsports shop because the dealership will just charge a lot of money.

mitsubishiparts.net if you are going to stay with OEM fluids. Or go to an AMSOil dealer if you want to go that route.

how come the amsoil site doesn't recommend any of their fluids for the trans case and diff? (when i select my vehicle, nothing is suggested for those)

i was going to use amsoil for the trans, then oem for the others...but maybe not? opinions?

I'm running Amsoil in the tranny and OEM in the TC and rear diff.

30K lists both fluids/oils to be changed. I doublecheked at a performance shop and the dealership to ensure the MUT tool was needed for one of them. I finally had to get it done at the stealership due to the MUT tool requirement.

Check out the turbo maintenance schedule pdf here:

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/...dule_Turbo.pdf

You might need a login for the mitsubishi owners website.

This is what it lists under the 30K:

Change rear axle oil (differential part and torque transfer part).
Change rear axle oil, with Limited Slip Diff.
