yeah i put double sided sticky tape in the glove box on the contact points and it stopped for awhile but its back and its worse then ever. i always listen to music so it covers it up but when i dont its really annoying.

it needs to be felt, not double sided sticky tape. i can post pictures but i need to do it on my new 2010 X first. it fixed it on my '09 gts when i had it though. another point of contact is the piston that lets the glovebox down slowly, and the latch itself... it didnt rattle in my gts but i'll still inspect it in my X

I have so many damn rattles in my car, it drives me crazy!! It's the one thing I really hate about my car.

There's one coming from somewhere around the steering rack / gauge cluster that I haven't been able to locate and it literally drives me nuts... does anyone one how to fix it????

Was the opposite for me. I took out the HUGE manual in the glove box, and now it stopped doing it. Now I have a new one to track down in my B pillars

I had the same thing on my GTS. Was so annoying. So felt pad worked pretty well?

That is the point of contact I suspected all along. Please, if you get you 2010 X to stop squeaking at the glovebox by applying felt, please take pictures and post them. I'd really like to do the same to my car...

Well it wasn't like a regular piece of felt. I got one of these felt squares you would put under your furniture to stop floor scratches its about 1/4" in thickness.

Windows down, stereo up, add a nice TBE and step on the gas. All together now....

Aren't "recalls" issued when there is a safety issue. I don't really see a squeak affecting your safety, unless you put mental health into perspective LoL.

Just out of curiousity. Any of you getting a small "knock" coming from the right front when you go over bumps/inclines at a slight angle?
The reason I ask is because I recently started having this issue and it sounds like something is loose involving the suspension on the right side.

Coincidentally, I also started getting this EXTREMELY(to me) annoying squeaking coming from the right side of the car. Specifically it sounds like it's coming from between the firewall and the airbag above the glovebox.
I'm guessing this is the same issue you folks are having.
Now what I'm wondering is, would this issue be accuring because of something loose in the suspension causing flex in the chassis or something? I'm thinking the squeak started because of the flexing maybe.
I don't know. It's starting to bother me. My X only has 8K on the clock and this shouldn't be happening.
I went to the dealer a couple of weeks ago for the knocking sound(right before the squeak started happening) and waited about 4 hours for the car and they didn't find anything. It's extremely annoying to me having to drive a new car that sounds like a broken shopping cart and then taking time off work to go to the dealer only to leave without a solution hours later.

Here is my thread on the Knock issue incase anyone wants to check it out. Thanks:
