You must have been racing the worst drivers in the history of driving or they weren't racing you... Just do the math, much lighter car plus 40 more hp does not = you winning much less winning by 3 car lengths. Same logic goes for the 9 except you losing much worse than 1 car length. Man, reality sucks doesn't it? Did I mention my TBE and tuned Evo 9 put like 15 car lengths on an ACR viper from a 40 roll...

Like stated earlier op, if you want to go fast keep the 8, if you want a better DD get the X.

That's a tough one. I think I would stay with the 8...

Get the X. It's a fun safe car and it's not 7 years old like your current car. Why not upgrade? You can sell it for 20ish k in a couple years for sure anyway. On the other hand trading in the 8 isn't the best idea since it has lost most of it's price already... Or well keeping it for a few more years won't make a drastic change in it's price and you can wait to pick up a cheap X if you're eager to try one out.

I would get the X it is just a more refined ride compared to the VIII and IX's. Either way they make great track cars so it really comes down to do you want the payment.

Evo X makes very good power with the same mods as a IX. Turbo, cams, TBE, intake, and a tune nets 400+ on Evo X and i would assume the same on IX.

Thought about taking a bit more time and selling the VIII on the used market? You'd get more money out of it that way.

Xs will make your level of power with just intake, exhaust, and tune

0 chance unless you mean on an inflated dyno.

Going by the 315/322 #s, which even an X MR w/aforementioned mods will beat

Not really... It should be quite close... X's make great power with just a tune, let alone an intake and a TBE...

Is this guy serious?

So you know that an evo with an automatic trans (aka evo X mr) on that exact dyno with the exact same correction factors will make more power?

My guess is you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Sigh, my 9 makes 339whp and 389 wtq with just a tune and tbe... I guess my 9 will make more power than all 8's with the op's same mods? I guarantee his car with a decent tune makes wayyyyyyyy more power than my car. But we all know dyno numbers from different dynos on different days in different parts of the world are the end all be all. El Oh El

I stick by my original statement of 0 chance a X with TBE and tune will make more power than an 8 with...." MeganR 3" DP, Perrin 3" Catback, APC HighflowCat, HKS RS suction Intake,
HKS264/264, Hallman MBC, Walbro255LPH, Iveytune, Greddy Type-S(uck), QTP 02 Dump, 10.5Hotside, Nisei Full IC Pipes, AMS clone fmic, Buschur Ported Mani."

Of course we're talking same dyno, same day.

Here we go on the trolling

Yes this guy is serious. My guess is you don't know wtf you're talking about You can pull up thread after thread of Xs making low-mid 300s w/only intake, exhaust, and tune in the forum right below. Have fun

What did this suddenly become rocket science? You want precisely matched conditions down to the temperature? and a cherry on top?

So by your idgit logic IX's with just TBE and tune make more power than X's with the same mods? I mean mine did make 339 whp and 389 wtq on a Mustang dyno with just those mods...

No trolling btw, trying to bring reality into this thread. I mean look what this X owner posted while typing out of his ***.

I mean that all makes perfect sense right? Screw the math. El Oh El.

Since you're obviously not getting it I will simplify it for joo Chang. Screw dyno numbers since they can be manipulated in many ways, what does a X with just a TBE, tune and intake trap? My guess is a lot lower than an 8 with "MeganR 3 DP, Perrin 3 Catback, APC HighflowCat, HKS RS suction Intake, HKS264/264, Hallman MBC, Walbro255LPH, Iveytune, Greddy Type-S(uck), QTP 02 Dump, 10.5Hotside, Nisei Full IC Pipes, AMS clone fmic, Buschur Ported Mani."
