clear bra the roof yes/no

My clear bra guy is coming over one more time to cover a couple areas... I was thinking about having him cover the front 1/4 of the roof.

Anybody else cover the roof, was it worth it or am I just going clear bra crazy ?

If you are already going to cover the roof, I recommend to do the entire roof. Just so the roof fades evenly.

I wish I had done this. I have multiple chips in that area.

What are you talking about? The roof will fade the same throughout. The sunlight still penetrates the clear bra. If he were doing a colored vinyl, then yes, I would suggest this. However, he is just putting the clear bra on.

I clear bra'd the front edge of my roof... right between the windshield and moonroof. On my last car I got a bunch of chips/scratches along the leading edge of the roof.

i think you are going clear bra crazy lol...my opinion, if you want to protect the roof from rock chips, at least make it stylish, meaning, wrap it in 3m di noc, or any other vinyl...

I would say thats going a little nuts....

I did the mirrors, complete front end to the hood scoops, and the rear wheel flairs and called it a day.

I mean really.... where do you say enough is enough? You could clear bra the whole car.

I think somewhat driving style is going to dictate how much you need to do.

- I dont follow the next guy too close (I leave like 3 car lenghts)
- I change lanes if Im behind a truck with no mud flaps
- I DONT take my car off road or "ralley" it

If you DO the above that 3m the crap out of it....

Thats how I am. I used to try my hardest to keep my cars immaculate. No matter how hard I'd try, something out of my control would always happen.

I've learned to make peace with it now.

Not saying the OP should do this, being an '11 and all, try to take care of it as best as you can.

i have the ENTIRE front end. Fenders, hood, bumper, aero lip, mirrors, and rear fenders.

I did not do the roof, and have not seen any chips yet.

If you do get it, then i would just do a couple inches back, and call it good. Don't think you really need it though.

Your car is white right? On white cars you need to take very good care of the clear bra or it will show yellowing. All other color cars, not so much. do a good wax (not quick wax, but a solid bar or paste wax) ever 3-4 months, and quick wax every month.

pm me if you have clear bra questions or whatever.

thx for the advice. I'm passing on the roof. My installer used a paste wax after the install. I will ask what he's using and stick with that. Hopefully they don't yellow!! I have a garage at home and work so hopefully that will help reduce the yellowing.

my clearbra installer warned me about using colored waxes on clearbras as certain ones can stain.

that should help the yellowing. be careful on what solid waxes you use and you will not have to use them every time. find a good liquid quick wax for in between.
