Yea that's normal on the X unfortunately.. My TWM shifter, shift knob, and bushings cured mine tho.. Most people either swap the tranny fluid or do a short shifter/bushings. I did both.. Haha

Go to Spec Ops or TachMotorworks, and get yourself a good deal on a nice turbo back, intake and tune the car. You are looking at making here with these mods over 60 HP easilly.

Have fun with these extra ponies before you go all out with cams, turbo ect...

Yea man.. It made the X shift much better.. I bought the TWM shifter, shifter bushing, and heavy *** shift knob from them too.. That was around $270ish or something after shipping. That REALLY helped the notchy shifting. Most people go with either TWM or Works.

Then I changed the tranny fluid with AMSoil fluid around 25k miles or so.. It's really good stuff and helped a lot.. But in the morning if it is cold outside the shifting is kinda stiff for the first 2 minutes or so, once it heats up it is amazing.

Congrats on the car, like everyone said, i would drive the car and get used to the stock power first, be comfortable with the stock power until you get bored with it, then youll really notice the money you put into the car.

I think that TWM is still a vendor on here. They can hook you up..

Here is their website..

I only have the base bushings the (19.95 ones) because when I bought mine, those were the only ones available, but it makes a big difference..

Torque is about $50 cheaper than TWM and gives a shorter throw and larger height reduction. I have it and the height and location change make it just as easy as stock to reach from the seat. Theyre a piece of metal that wont see corrosion or excessive force, why spend more for the TWM? As far as the bushings go, those coupled with the short shifter and a weighted knob made a HUGE difference on mine. I went with the Works for the bushings and TWM on the knob. Enjoy!

Torque solutions isn't bad but you can't just say, "This ones cheaper so buy this one!" The design is different, not just throw and height.. And the materials are top notch. Hell, you could prolly get on Ebay and pick up one for 20 bucks if you wanted..
