Who's all running the MAP short runner manifold?

Just got my MAP short runner manifold and it's not coated. Anyone running it as is? Not coated. I'm afraid it will get to hot and melt wires and stuff. Any opinions?

Wow you live in Butler...I didn't think they'd have Evo's there...

You should have some ceramic coaters in the area, if I were going to spend money on a manifold and then the time to put it in, personally I'd coat it up first.

You still have the metal valve cover though, and the new plastic ones were the problem area when it came to melting things. The X's run hot though, I'd coat it.

Yeah I have the metal valve cover. And I have a MAP stage 2 2.2 fully built motor that's a few weeks from being done and dropped in. So I'm putting it on then.

I'd wrap it as well to keep the heat from getting in your engine bay....and yes coat it, don't run it bare.

I have one, but it's coated. I also have their firewall heatshield and a custom valve cover heatshield. (it'll be for sale soon)

I have the long tube thats coated and wraped and I'd still DEFINITELY suggest getting their firewall heat shield, cam angle sensor shield. When installing the firewall shield you have to move the wiring harness down and back behind it or you'll smash it and melt it. It melted part of mine and my wipers shorted out before I noticed anything.

I have one with no coating and not wrapped... I dont drive it all that often and dont beat on it all that often. Mine has been completely fine! However, in the near future i will be getting their firewall heat shield
