Well I picked up a 2008 evo x Gsr SSS 10k miles.

AMS air intake
AMS downpipe
AMS high flow cat
AMS shifter bushings
Cobb Accessport
Greddy Spectrum Elite exhaust
Tuned by Kaizen Tuning

1 owner, mint condition. 23.5k $

Awesome car. Can't believe the handling difference from my Vette. Any Idea what type of quarter mile times it could do with the listed mods?

Any one on the board previous vette owners? Is there that much of a difference in power after a evo is tuned with a few bolt ons?

I miss having a turbo car ( 93 eclipse gsx) 87 Buick grand national...but I will say the torque and top end of the c6 is damn nice....just not a fan of the numb steering feedback and 6spd in daily driver traffic ..that with a move to the north east with snow just won't work.
I sold a modified C6 Z-51 a while back (400 whp / 400 wtq with all the bolt-ons). Yesterday I picked up a 2013 Mercury Gray Pearl MR (base model: Packages? What Packages?). The C6 was wonderful, but I had a lot of traction problems (I live in the Seattle area). The MR is getting broken in but already it's awesome: real seats, real brakes, real steering, and AWD! Did I mention AWD?

I loved the C6, especially the quality power, but the seats were garbage. I could never find a seat that fit me and would fit permanently in the car. Bought a RaceTech seat but didn't want to put-it-in and take-it-out. Want brakes? ~$5000-6000. Also, "numb" steering sucked: way too light at lower speeds; then would get seriously heavy around corners at speed.

I'm convinced there are no car-guys in the Corvette Division. They are clueless. "Steering feel, what's that?" "Brakes, yah we'll make our own!" " Seats? Whatever." Seriously GM bought Lotus in the 1980's and Lotus designed the breakout Corvette, the C5. Now, they can only fiddle with that design -- nothing new.

Oops, sorry, I must be ranting, but I'm loving the MR!

I feel the same way...the corvette is a sexy car, and the power is amazing. But it just lacks so much from a " drivers" point of view. With this evo it just feels so much more connected to the road..it's a confidence booster.

The 5 spd is great...wish it had a 6th gear but it is so much more suited for daily driving than the vette 6spd.

Pretty happy so far with the evo. A few more mods and I think I have found the car I will have for a long time.

I've always had a soft spot for the C6 but the Evo X is a much nicer car in terms of feel and quality overall. It's so much more composed and easier to drive at the limit.

I had both for awhile. Both 2008's. The C6 has great feel if you explored the limits on a track, but, as you know, is a little touchy on the streets.

The Evo was a little behind on a longer track like the 3.1 mile section of Spring Mtn in NV as an example, but you could max it out with confidence on actual streets due to the lower torque and awd (s-awc is the shiznit for sure).

The Evo cost more to operate imo, but was more useful as a car.

Well, you have one now, but I ended up keeping the vette because I can drive the C6 year round and it doesn't rain much here. It would have been nice to been able to keep the evo as part of my collection, but I'm not Jay Leno. Actually i bought the vette after the Evo because I wanted the punch to 140, and missed muscle cars in general.
