Goodbye to the exact GSR I wanted :(
STOP CALLING THE DEALERSHIP! It's obvious they don't want your business.
I was just like you, saving up money, willing to make deposits, willing to travel up and down the east coast trying to find a dealership that treats me(the customer) with respect. Keep calling around you will find a dealership that will beat what you had going on in Indiana.
You say you are looking for a PB with SS? That shouldn't be to hard to find, keep your options open and be patient!!! Only pay what YOU want to pay. Shopping around for an EVO was the first time I stepped foot on a Mitsu dealers lot and if I can help it, it will be the last.

We have two very good EvoM sponsor dealerships that offer great prices and are very experience with shipping cars across the country; they also both have very high Evo inventories (new & used).
-Don Herring Mitsubishi
-SouthCoast Mitsubishi
I personally purchased my car and have ordered many parts from Don Herring and they've been nothing but great to me; same with their service department.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback though I greatly appreciate it
If you don't get it, the car wasn't meant to be yours.
When I was searching for my Evo during the spring, I must have found between 4-5 that I was about to buy, but they ended up being sold.
That is until I found mine
Keep searching. You will find one that is meant to be yours.

Sorry I did not consider driving it back "fun." The evo is a fun car, but 18+ hours of driving isn't. Plus you might be breaking the engine in because its new (I bought a used IX, so wasnt a concern for me) but roads are not always healthy to drive on. At points in Louisiana it was like taking a jack hammer to the interior, albeit it was only roughly 30 miles like that for the entire trip.
Go with your gut feeling on this one though. There will be plenty other oppotunities in the future even though it may not seem like it.
Like others have said, just get in touch with South Coast Mitsubishi. I've purchased two Evos through them (though a while ago in 2006 and then again in 2007), but it's a little easier for me since I live within five minutes of their dealership and work even closer to them than that. The guy who owns South Coast Mitsubishi also owns three other Mitsubishi dealerships in Southern California (Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Victorville), so it's generally not too difficult for them to get their hands on one that you're looking for.
South Coast is priced higher than Im really willing to pay, they are 3k more for the same car.
Im leaning towards a 2011 20k miles with the SS pckgs, and exterior pckg(might of been called aero kit that year not sure), relatively close(portland) and they are willing to go a little under 29 for the car. Seems like a fair deal and the car looks clean, gonna have it inspected tomorrow. The guy my brother uses there is an independent certified master tech, but doesnt do the same compression tests cobb does, but he does do computer analysis with an exhaust gas analyzer, is that sufficient? Cobb is booked out for two weeks
