HAHAV8 i dont think 11.0 is using more fuel per say. More like its not burning as much fuel as 11.5.

TSC comp has me confused on this issue, because if im running richer im gonna be burning less fuel therefore im gonna be pouring more out my exhaust pipe

I sold my x for a ix. I think its completely normal to have soot coming out of your exhaust at wot.Thats because you dont want to lean out at full boost. I was simply replying to TSC comp. I know he is a very reputable tuner, i know he knows what hes talking about, but his reply didnt make sense to me. Why would a car tuned at 11.0 AFR at WOT not blow out black soot if it is running that rich? It definetly should. I mean even guys on E85 running a 12.2 AFR blow out a little soot at WOT.

Tsc comp I gotcha in regards to afr higher is leaner. But under richer conditions there's more fuel whatever is not burned is forced out of the exhaust. I know you know what u r talking about and are a very reputable tuner. I just want to make sure im following you. My experience the richer a car is at wot the more unburned fuel is blowing out the back. Under lean conditions there is less fuel to burn.

Now the smoke im referring too is not a constant black cloud. Usually I notice it right at wot. I know its not burning oil as its black smoke not blueish smoke.

Tsc comp I think that was the confusion. I think you thought at 11.0 if was referring to heavy black smoke lol. I was simply referring to black smoke at 1st launch like a puff.not consistent black smoke down the track. I only mentioned the blueish smoke because of the reference you made in your first post about the possibility I was burning oil. Lol.

Interesting read, they do smoke even in the 11s. On pumpgas this is common.
