Who mounted these? I don't see how anyone could put a tire on and not notice the damage to the wheel. My position with the seller would be you owe me a refund equal to my cost for replacing/repairing this wheel. And--if I paid $500 a wheel--it would definitely be replaced, not repaired.

Tires were already installed. I paid $2000 for tires, wheels, and center caps. The tires are pretty used so it happened sometime during the life of these tires.

I'm going to try and find a repair shop today locally, although I don't know if I can, and see what they say. I'm just hoping its the one wheel and there's not more the guy didnt tell me about. Who knows what I have now..

The seller doesn't technically "owe" the guy anything. All used/private transactions are considered "as is" unless otherwise stated. Legally the seller has no obligation to do anything, but he should because it's the right thing to do.

Take this as lesson learned OP...dropping that much for rims, let alone used ones at that, should make you that much more careful. I've had generally positive transactions here, although, there are those that fall through the cracks. GL - shouldn't be too much of a fix. All in all - lesson learned...

Thanks for the advice guys..

Yea I'm basically writing it up to just a rough lessen to be more cautious and check things more thoroughly.. I'm hoping it will just be this one wheel and won't be too expensive.. Hopefully less than $200.. I've never had to deal with bent wheels before.

As far as asking the other guy to split it.. He should have def let me know that it was bent, but I don't think I'll worry about asking him. I really like the wheels and will love them if it is just like $100 to straighten it out.. If I have to buy a whole new one, I'll be pretty disappointed.. But oh well.. I'm trying not to worry about it too much.

Had my eyes on those but the rash really pushed me away. Glad I bought a new set. Sucks man, I can't stand dishonesty in people. I couldn't sleep at night doing that to someone. Sucks you didn't look them all over really well before dropping the cash. I wouldn't expect the seller to help you out if he's shady enough to sell them without being honest about the condition. Zero chance he didn't know about it. He was fully aware.

... I personally wouldn't even use that wheel and would find a replacement. It's in pretty bad shape. And it probably took a lot of heat to bend it back

OP...Yeah, he definitely tried to pull a fast one on you. You must've picked these up at night, while wrapped up in plastic, in a garage with very dim lighting...at least it's fixable...

OP did not buy the rim in the picture you copied... that was just an example of a bent rim being fixed.

If you bought the wheels off of the forum I'd honestly start a dispute with one of the mods in the for sale section if you can.

The warp in those wheels is significant enough that there is no way the seller wouldn't have noticed. If they were unbalanced due to a weight coming off, a little more curb rash than you thought or something else minor you'd have to let it slide. But, something as blatantly obvious as that, which was mis-represented in the sale - needs to be rectified.

UPDATE: Well, I know a guy that owns a wheel shop.. I forgot that he did that kind of work. When I called a shop that repairs curb rash, they recommended me to him. He said he can fix them no problem, and pretty cheap. So I'm dropping them off at his shop this weekend and I have the stockers back on till then.

As far as starting a complaint, I figure it's not that expensive of a fix, although the guy was very shady since he lied about the wheels being bent.. It is VERY noticeable while driving.

He actually has a few things for sale either on EvoM or evoxforums still, (AMS intercooler, short runner mani, etc..). His username is vastevo if anyone is wanting to know.

If you haven't left seller feedback yet, I'd recommend you leave neutral to negative feedback. Sorry this happened.
