Car sitting for 20 months and it won't start

I have a 2008 GSR. I lost my job and couldn't afford the evo so it had to go into storage. I put stabil in a full tank of gas when I did. After getting s great job, i decided now is the time to get her back out.

I changed the oil. I put a new battery (I bought it 6 months ago on sale but it sat in the house until I installed it). I got in to start it and nothing. I turn it over and there is nothing happening. It sounds like the fuel pump turns on (?) but it doesn't crank. I assume that maybe the battery is a little low so its currently hooked up to a charger. Once I key it over though, everything works like the a/c, radio, horn etc.

The car only has about 4600 miles(I know) and its bone stock.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yea I would charge the battery and make sure. Just because you have interior lights doesn't mean that the battery has enough juice. I would also drive that old gas out of the thing and fill up again with some fresh fuel.

Yeah. That is the plan. I am just concerned that its something more like a starter or fuel pump.

I don't see why the starter would go bad just sitting around though.. but keep us posted on any new findings!

Do you have a multimeter to measure the batter voltage?

I am sitting at 13v. The charger has switched to trickle or float charging so the battery is full.

The car is still doing the exact same process. Turn the key, nothing happens.

Ideas?

Edit: Interestingly, both key fobs are dead.

Do you hear a click from the starer when attempting to start it? Check the starter relay/fuse.

Does it make any sound at all? Ive had alternators freeze up and stops the belt from turning. If this was the case you would hear it try to move the belt atleast.

You should go thru your fuse box and then the ones under the hood as well and check everything-- you should also see if you can locate the fusible link and see if thats fried. could have blown it. You do need to do what was stated above-- get that old gas out before you start it. GL

I do have the keyless entry. When I turn thr key it doesn't really make a sound. I tried to move the belt and they didn't budge.

You mentioned that both of your keyfobs are dead. I noticed something like this happening when the battery in my key died, i would turn the ignition but nothing would happen (the engine wouldnt even turn over). What i had to do was reset the battery on the car and replace the battery on the keyfob. Once i did that, tried again and it started like a bause.

I wonder if it's the FAST key battery? Are you able to lock/unlock the car with the keyfob?

That's what I was talking about.....if you have fastkey and the fob is dead you need to pull the key our the back and stick that sucker in to the keyhole on the steering column...then plug the fob over the bare key and turn..they key acts as a contact and sends power to the fob therefore starting the car
