I have the HKS Hi-Power exhaust and I really like it. It's got a very deep growl to the exhaust note. It's not very loud either, it's just a deep low pitch sound. This exhaust will also set off car alarms from parked cars around you.

It's a great exhaust and I highly recommend it.

 

There's a word for folks who can put those two sentences back-to-back. I'd type it in, but to do so would break at least three rules and it would just show up as a row of asterisks, anyway.

 

I was at a car meet a few weeks ago and I was shocked how quiet my car really is. I had one of the quietest cars there. The Hi Power exhaust is just deep sounding and will rattle a few car alarms from time to time.

 

That's kind of what I'm looking for. More growl than traditional ricer.

With a turbo back, will I end up throwing a CEL code?

 

Ivey Tune refers to Sean Ivey of Ivey Tuning, which is much farther south from you. Big name place, I have no direct experience to reference for you.

Provided you tune the car, the cell can be turned off by the tuner.

 

Do you want growl or a booming headache when you drive the car? The Hi-Power is so low it creates a boom effect in the cabin. It feels like your ears are popping from an altitude change. Besides, the car is a crappy sounding 4 cylinder, there are so many variations on exhaust note that you will get.

And yes, you will throw a code with a turbo back unless you get tuned.

 

I'm looking for a deep growl. I've recently stumbled upon Topspeed pro 1 and like the sound. I'm considering going that rout.

 

I'm quite fond of my Invidia catback. I have it with an ETS test pipe, and it's a very nice sound. Note, my exhaust sound has changed quite a bit from when I first installed it, it sounds deeper after 6 months from when it was new.

I would say youtube videos of different exhausts, but they honestly don't do most justice.

If you don't want to go anywhere to get tuned, you can always get the necessary supplies for an open source tune, or grab an accessport, and have someone give you an e-tune.

 

I plan on a full tune. I'm just picky on what I want. A beautiful car that looks as mean as the x, deserves to sound and be just as mean.
