Clutch master cylinder in 14 GSR

Hey guys im fairly new here bought a new 14 evo x gsr back in may im getting ready to upgrade my clutch to the exedy twin so i wonder if i should upgrade my cmc with the Magnus one or if my oem will hold the pressure since this one is metal and not plastic like the ones before . Anybody here has any experience or can share their knowledge ? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance !

Double check that your OEM CMC is metal... AFAIK, the new V.2 OEM CMC is still plastic, just supposedly put together better. However, there were mentions of CMC failures on the new CMC.

I upgraded to a Magnus just because I'd rather spend the extra money than having to deal with it if it breaks.

I'm 99% sure the new one isn't metal.

The new one is just stronger adhesive holding it together...

The issue wasn't just with it being plastic, it was more of a combination of ****ty adhesive and hand-putting it together. If the person putting your CMC together did a ****ty job, it is more likely to fail.

A metal CMC just gets rid of the adhesive altogether, if I'm not mistaken.

If you are upgrading the clutch, upgrade the master. The oem plastic ones always fail.

Whether you have an upgraded clutch or not, this would not be a bad time to change it out for a metal one. Think of it as preventative maintenance, which our cars require a good amount of maintenance. It will save you from possibly having to replace a whole new clutch all together which isn't cheap.

No, they are not. I have a 2014 GSR sitting in the parking lot right now that would disagree with that.

You have the same one.

That screenshot doesn't prove your point. The reason why their upgrade doesn't work on 2013+ is not because the 2013+ already has a metal CMC.

If you don't believe me, go look under your hood. It's directly to the right of the brake booster, it's a little hard to see.

It will look like this:

I love all these new forum members that ask questions and advice but then don't take the information and advice they asked for because it isn't what they wanted to hear.

Best of luck.
