Hey guys,

I just bought a cobb AP and just got my first tune. I have an injen intake and it's currently mapped on 93 octane. Everything else is stock. I was speaking to cobb earlier and they said if I wanted to continue and go to stage 2 map I would need a turbo back exhaust. I wasn't sure if that was necessarily true or If I could just get a cat back. Reason being, I found a BNIB borla for 600$ shipped and that's a pretty good deal from what I've seen. Will I still need to buy the downpipe and test pipe to achieve the turbo back, or is it really unnecessary?

If so, what brand of DP and TP do you guys recommend to go along with the borla? I live in Va so i still have to have a cat too.

You need to get a test pipe or high flow cat before stage 2, the downpipe isn't necessary unless you're planning to drive hard or track the car (at which point you should get a pro tune anyways). Stage 2 with the stock DP can create over heating and back pressure issues, but as a daily driver or purely street driven car, the stock DP shouldn't be a problem.

Now with all that being said, you could chose any mod path and instead of flashing Cobb OTS maps, get a pro tune. There's no question a pro tune is a better option then Cobb OTS maps after modding a bit.

I chose the Cobb TBE, and I love it. I suggest picking what ever exhaust system you think sounds best, but the most important exhaust mod for the evo x is a test pipe or high flow cat. Get one... any one... YouTube that **** and pick the one that sounds best.
