E85 or bigger turbo?

Hey Evo people! I'm in a bit of a predicament at the moment. I am wondering what exactly I should do at this point. I have a Cobb intake, cobb ebcs, ams upper and lower intercooler pipes, tomei expreme dp, ams tp and a dc sports dual catback(previous owner installed the catback). I found a great tuner a couple of hours away from my home, so he tuned my car on his Mustang Dyno. I'm at 327awhp after he finished tuning. So, here's my issue. He mentioned going with E85 but also having a switch to go back and forth between 93 and e85 when necessary since e85 is not easy to find in my area. I have done a little research and it seems like it's a pain in the butt to get my fuel system where it needs to be in order to run e85 (injectors? Fuel pump? Fuel lines). I would rather run a bigger turbo (gt3071r is what I want), but I'm just as ignorant when it comes to that route as well. It's supposed to bolt up to the stock manifold with no issues, but I'm not sure what I should do about a wastegate. Any recommendations? Also, injector size? Would the stock intercooler be fine with this turbo? I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot asking these questions, but I'm totally new to this. My goal is to make 400awhp and be done. If I'm missing anything here, please fill me in. I'm just trying to do this in my own garage and then Hand it over to my tuning guy. The bigger turbo route seems easier, but I'm not really sure. Please don't flame me for this. Thanks in advance.

E85 or bigger turbo?

You will need a bigger intercooler with a bigger turbo. I would recommend an MHI 18k over the Garrett

400 on e85 = smaller turbo, "quicker car", no additional lag
400 on pump gas (lucky you with 93oct) = slightly larger turbo, a bit of lag, less hassle refueling.

basically, you will need the same mods with either, just larger injectors with the e85 than pump gas. that's cheaper than a whole new turbo.

If E85 is difficult to find then definitely go bigger turbo. I'm on E85 and have 2 stations near my house and it's still a pain sometimes. If I had to drive farther to get it I would switch back to pump gas.

As far as turbos I recommend FP green or MHI-18K (find whatever u can get a better deal on) all the way. I have the MHI and absolutely love it.

For fuel I'm running the AEM 320 lph pump with ID 1000cc injectors but I'm on E85. If you plan on stopping at 400 on pump walbro 255/ID1000 will serve you well and be stupid simple.

As far as intercooler goes I'm running my stock intercooler and I'm making around 450whp dynojet with my MHI on E85. I do plan on upgrading in the future though, if money in not a restraint then go for it.

I also said "400 whp and done" here I am at 450 lol. If you see that happening then get enough fuel to support higher power levels. I had a dw65 before I had to upgrade to the 320lph when I ran out of fuel on my MHI.

+1 exactly, the same goes for the clutch if you haven't upgrade for more power than you plan to make. Trust me, even if you really don't go past the power levels of your HW, it's nice to have a bit of a buffer if it doesn't hinder how you plan to drive it.

If you're looking to save a few bucks, I made a little over 400whp with a modded Walbro 255. Just FYI. On 1050 cc FIC injectors.
And the clutch if you plan on any launching/drag racing/etc.

Thanks for the replies! I forgot to mention that the clutch and flywheel have been replaced. I Have the ACT heavy duty street performance clutch and ACT street light flywheel. I'm leaning toward E85 since my tuning guy said he's working on a way to give me optional maps for e85 and 93 with a push of a button, but no guarantees yet. I will do some research on the info you all gave me. Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it!

If E85 isn't easily available the turbo hands down. And wait for the TephraV3 with flexfuel. Map switching not needed. I've already volunteered my X for tuner to test the V3 flex fuel on. Can't wait for it. Trying to decide if I wanna get a MHI-18K before then. Could have me a 450whp monster of a DD.

It's brown and kinda looks like maple syrup. It's an inconsistent problem which is even worse because it makes it harder to predict. It's happened to two people I know personally and I've seen a few posts about it.
It's not that common of an issue, but not a risk I'm willing to take. I'd rather dump a bunch of Torco Accellerator in before a track day, if I'm worried about knock.

Cool, more Ethanol for me. Almost a decade now over four plus cars running Ethanol 24/7 with zero issues.
