Here's my thought. We have figured out the pin out for the video feed to add in a reverse camera. Could we trick the car into thinking it was in reverse with a toggle? Maybe just feed a current to the line that triggers the screen? Then with airplay/mirror using apple TV send a signal with our phones?

 

I don't quite understand what you are trying to accomplish here. What exactly do you want to do?

 

Consider the Pioneer AppRadio4 - which runs your phone and all its apps


Add a parking brake bypass so it can perform while driving. Just have a passenger to mess with it - it is too much distraction for a driver.

 

You could get the video to display. But you would have no control from the screen and you would have to run a 12V source through a toggle switch to kick the unit into the camera display.

Best bet is probably the Appradio4 with the brake bypass. The new model is way better than the older ones. And FLAC support!
