Just wanted to share video of the most fun I've ever had doing anything.

I can die happy now knowing that I took the Evo to the limit closer to its natural habitat... a real Rally event. It feels simply amazing.

Even though I took 1st place overall, the car is capable of so much more... many mistakes were made and there's always room for improvement. I'll be back!

Yup, someone actually hit an electric pole during Stage 3 which caused a grass fire, then to top it off it started raining at the same time. They had to call fire dept and called it off.

But believe it or not, the car is capable of so much more, I was holding back a bit. Evo on amazing tires inspires lots of confidence and I've been doing autocross for a few years now. There was only 1 real close call at about 1:35, almost hit that tire.

Looks awesome but I'm amazed there isn't real safety requirements. What organization puts that on?

It's a brand new venue called Carlstromring in Arcadia, FL.

The site used to be an old WW2 airfield which then became an insane asylum, and now this.

This was the very first event, and it was mainly intended as a limited "dry run" for future potential events. (registration was cut off at 50 cars) They plan to have a track, separate rally stages, rally school, lodge, restaurant, etc. Depending on how successful it is.

They used roughly SCCA Rallycross rules. The safety requirements were helmets, but they were also tech'ing cars to make sure they were safe to run.

It wasn't an fly-by-night event. They actually had legit insurance, the local sheriff and an ambulance on-site.

The next event is supposedly in April. I can't wait!
