Fuel rating Octane to M?
In my country in the Middle East we have two types of petrol at the gas stations. One is called Regular and other is Super, latter being the pricier one. Upon asking about the octane ratings I was told that Regular = M90 and Super is M95.
Does anyone know what those are in Octane rating as in 91 Octane or 92 Octane etc.?

It's hard to compare the two, M90 and M95 are similar to the E85 we have here in the states. E85 is 85% gasoline and 15% Ethanol. M90 would be 90% gasoline and 10% Methanol. Since we don't have methanol fuel here in the states it's going to be hard to guess at an octane rating. But a page that I found listed M85 as 102 octane rating which is similar to E85. So having a higher Methanol/Ethanol content will raise the octane rating.
In this case you might be better off with M90 since it should have a higher octane rating due to the higher Methanol content. But our cars are not equipped to run flex fuel set-ups when stock. Maybe a model built for your country might come with the ability to run a methanol fuel. You're just going to have to google and do some research.
