MAP investment cast manifold w/ stock exhaust shield

Anyone have fitment issues with the MAP manifold and the stock heat shield?

i.e. bolt holes too close/far, need to trim heat shield, bottom mount point pokes out too much, etc.

Have you tried calling the manufacturer and see what they say?

No, it was designed to fit.

Taken right off their website:
Features
  • Meticulously optimized design yields a 22% average increase in exhaust flow over the OEM exhaust manifold with less imbalance between runners (check out our flow testing results above)
  • Investment cast 310s stainless steel construction
  • Factory heat shield provisions
  • Includes (2) allen head bolts to ease installation of the manifold to cylinder head

If you're worried about melting a plastic valve cover with the MAP manifold and that's why you want the heat shield, then don't even worry about it. I have a plastic valve cover and the MAP manifold without the shield on it and it sits far enough away to not pose a problem.

How is that manifold on stock frame turbos? Looking for less lag and more response down low maybe this manifold is what i need i currently have a tubular from map.

On a stock turbo, this manifold will delay spool roughly 250rpm. I lost 400rpm of spool when I upgraded my stock turbo/manifold setup to a MAP cast manifold and a MHI 18k. Honestly I can’t tell the difference. To put it into perspective I lost 400rpm down low for an extra 1200rpm up top
