underhood shifter bushings

i recently did the trans (redline cocktail)/transfer case/ and rear diff oil changes along with a short shift install, ams shifter base bushings and the ams 5 speed gate selector bushing.

While that tremendously improved shift all together, i still from time to time get that 3rd gear notchyness,

will the underhood shifter bushing help? or dont even bother ?

The underhood bushings should definitely help, though you'll probably never completely get rid of the notchiness. The bushings are a cheap easy upgrade, and definitely worth it.

Might be a synchro.
If it were bushings I think all gears would feel notchy.

doubt it, car is 2014 with 37k miles. Synchro shouldnt go bad that fast.
like i said it doesnt happen as often as it did when it came from factory. Just once in while after the changes and upgrade.

As long as it's not grinding. 3rd gear notchiness is normal for the Evo, its just the nature of the beast.

On that note, I find smooth transitions when I shift to 3rd during acceleration over 3.5k RPM.. I'd say its worth trying it out

I tried the redline cocktail and I thought it was useless. I ended up just doing the redline MT-85 only and it worked pretty well, much better then the cocktail did. But the third gear thing would only pop up when I was being nice to the car. If I was winding out the gears and shifting quickly into the next, never had an issue.

Yup exactly, thats the only time when i have that issue. When shifting beiow 3k rpm it has notchyness, if i shift above 3k its fine.

I did use 2 quarts of MTL and 1 quart of MT-90 (map performance recommended that) and that definitely improved shifting.
