What choices are there for Evo X's replacement trunk lift support struts (5925A041)?
Recently my Evo's trunk lift support struts have stopped working and I'm considering have them replaced. For the Evo X, there are 2 part numbers for the trunk struts. 5925A042 is for wingless or small spoilers. 5925A041 is for large spoilers. OEM 5925A041 lists for about $110 for a set of 2 (all prices in US dollars).
Usually air-filled trunk struts sell for $15~$40 per set, so I think the OEM price is quite steep. Tuff Support has a replacement (part number 614000); StrongArm has a replacement (part number 7079). Both are cheap but they are even for small spoilers. Lift Supports Depot does make one for large spoilers (part number PM3110), but they are known for .
Anyone has some good information on where to buy these trunk struts? If noone is making a replacement, I guess OEM will be the only choice.
