Why can't EVO X haters,...just accept?

- that the X is just a better overall car, ( you just have to really look at the whole package and you must admit, X has evolved and in a good way-from all that is currently known about it)

- that it will have everything and then some of the things many people complained the VIII and IX lacks

- that 6-12 months from now on they will most like likely be "X lovers"

- that hating a car they have not driven and experienced is just plain simple minded.

- that,....

- my position: I owned an 03 VIII and now own 06 IX and love the car. I am not an evo X lover per say but from my posts on this matter, if i were to be lebelled either, i guess X lover would be most appropriate. To me its simple really, I have stated this before, I will not accept the weight, power ratings, price speculations until all of this information is seen in one place such as the website, brochures, or sticker on the car while i am at the dealership checking it out. Even then, as many have mentioned, power numbers for example can be understated, as has been the case in the past. I will not judge the looks, quality of materials, etc until the time i have actually saw, felt, and experienced the vehicle first hand.

So until then, stop all the hate, just get along, group hug.

Some more Positive thoughts on the X

Good post{thumbup} Overall the X looks like a great car, there are much more positives about it then negatives, in my opinion.

If you think it's bad here, you should go over to the Porsche forums. The in-fighting between 911 variants and the number of claims that xxx model is the last true 911 gets downright irritating at times.

I like the looks and I read the road test. The release price will play a huge role in the Evo community. I think that the Evo X has great handling capabilities and braking but it made us raise the eyebraws with the acceleration numbers and trap speeds. Although not bad at all everyone was hoping a 12 sec car pretty much from the beginning at least that is what the rumors started.

I will still go to the show room at the local Mitsubishi dealer for a test drive whenever they have it and I will still consider buying one if the price is good and the reviews back them up.

The car is not what I was hoping for at all, in fact it was sort of what I feared in the back of my mind. I was hoping for an even more rugged, communicative car...but I feared that MMC would go upmarket to gain a greater market share, which is exactly what they did. I suppose i'd be classified as a hater, but I certainly don't hate the Evo X. I think the handling will be out of this world, but its that rough and rugged feel of the Evo IX that I know is not going to be there in the Evo X. Granted, I have yet to drive it, but the vehicles specifications and features, as well as reviews, would support my speculation.

More refined vehicle? Definitely. Better handling? Definitely. Faster around a track? Definitely. A more communicative and emotional driving experience? Doubtful. And that is why I bought the IX over other more refined vehicles. Like Carlos, I will certainly go for a test drive and I'm sure I will be very impressed in some areas (comfort and handling) and let down in others (acceleration and communication).

The samething can be said about people loving a car that they have not driven or experienced....simple minded

But do we really need another one of these threads asking the same question?

pltek Nov 23, 2007 08:17 AM

If you read my post, friend, i am NOT an EVO lover, rather an open-minded (as opposed to simple minded) person who doesnt complain about or criticize something that is not even a reality yet.

So i guess to me, simple minded = closed mided for the sake of this discussion, i did not mean to imply that someone is stupid here.

You are right, we do not need anymore posts with a title "Why X sucks and why i will never be seen in one"; i figured that i start one with a very clear intention of going to basics of this issue of love v. hate of the X.

I belive that it will be more appropriate to have these discussion when the car is actually out there fore few months, but as someone pointed out here and i know all too well, people are people and they will find always something to complain about.

I prefer to have the "glass is half full" approach

Thats all.

Peace

people attach their feelings to a bucket of metal which in my opinion is quite sad

Dead-Man Inc Nov 23, 2007 10:50 AM

its all of personal opinions, u can't change it, untill they experience it ..
so when u guys get the evo X in the US .. test it... u like it.. buy it.. u dont, dont buy it, simple as that.

Redline06 Nov 23, 2007 11:01 AM

Screw the X hah..! :D

highbredcloud Nov 23, 2007 12:12 PM

I guess if I was 40+ with kids...and my choice was an AWD type of vehicle or a eVo X...I would for sure pick the X...simply because of the extra safety with the added air bags...navi...better interior as opposed to the VIII...(I think the IX is on the same level as the X)...yet it still looks more of a sports carish then the rest of the AWD vehicles in its class...however, saying that the X is going to be better then the IX...doubtful...that's comparing two different type of cars...one for the hardcore enthusiast the other for your average joe...simple...but there is too many average joe's out there who will end up buying the X simply because its is appealing to them...the hardcore enthusiast will pick up a low milleage IX or VIII instead...

My feelings on this is more of an import love....I'm affraid if this is a failure that the import scene will die more than it already has!...I love the sport and just dont want to see any of the manufacturors drop turboed cars because of lack of interest.:mitsu:
