how reliable are mitsu's turbos?
i'm leaning toward getting an evo mr when my current lease is up next year. never owned nor driven an evo before, how reliable are evo's turbos? i've heard evo viii and evo ix's turbo get hot after long distance trips, any truth in that? thanks.

I would say that stock Mitsu turbos have a great track record for reliability.
|
yes the turbo gets hot alright...
it is reilable. |
 Turbos? Hot? I wouldn't necessarily call a turbo getting hot a "bad" thing unless other things were factors
I wouldn't worry about the reliability of the turbos. This isn't an S4 we're talking about ;) - Patrick |

Doesn't Mitsubishi build the turbochargers for a large number of car manufacturers out there?

They are fine. I have only heard of a few problems. Just change and use a good synthetic oil.
