Fireballs coming out of the exhaust
Any one else shooting fire balls out the exhaust tips on there Evo X. I have the Ultimate Racing turbo back exhaust system, o2/downpipe, the mini muffler test pipe, and the dual tip cat back. I love this set up it sounds sick. I noticed the other day when I was at the track that my car shoots big fireballs out, while this looks really cool it has to be illegal. I also noticed that my defusser is now slightly melted and cracked, is this common with the new Evo's.

yeah that happens, i'm guessing your car's not tuned.

my friend is on the same boat........but as soon he got tune no more fireball......................(greddy exhaust ).

I have a tune.

Having a testpipe will cause this to happen even with a tune, I shot fireballs now and again, especially out at the track with the old VIII, and have seen other cars do it without a cat as well.
Shooting fireballs is not quite as illegal as having no cat, especially in CA ;) It's the least of your concerns. |
This still happens to me even after I got my tune.{thumbup}

I always shoot flames but i guess the meth might have somethig to do with it

holy smokes, that no fireball, that a bomb.....lol

Shooting fire balls is neat!

That evo also had one of his aftermarket intake cams advanced one tooth so that would lead to a better spool with loss of power at full boost, difficulty in tuning, and likely too much overlap in the combustion cycle so when they let off there would be quite a fire show. Even with a tune I still get fireballs popping out of the car at the track although it's mainly shifting out of 4th at 7k+ RPM's and not nearly as spectacular as that video.
