Can there be a sweeter deal!?!?

A 2011 Lancer EVO X, brand new off the show room floor with...
Sight and Sound
Keyless
Leather
Plus... COBB Accessport(set to stage 2), COBB SF intake, COBB intercooler, COBB hard piping, COBB catless turbo back exhaust for only $41K with a full warranty. I couldn't be happier right now!!!{thumbup}

escodotcarter May 7, 2011 12:25 PM

gsr?......I'd say thats WAY overpriced. Plus, say goodbye to that warranty. I dont care if you bought the car with the mods on it, good luck getting any mitsu dealer to honor it other then the one you bought it from, maybe. Where im from, mitsu dealers dont last long anyway. good luck though.

Pal215 May 7, 2011 12:37 PM

The answer to your question is yes, there are sweeter deals.

migs647 May 7, 2011 12:39 PM

I wouldn't put much stake into that warranty. If the warranty rep in your zone caught wind of it, I'm sure he'd deny it. If his managers caught wind of it, and he didn't, he'd be looking for another job. Mitsubishi themselves will not back that guaranteed.

That car + mods is worth about 36k going off what others are paying for similar cars. So you're paying about $5k for a fake warranty imo.

Exyia May 7, 2011 12:55 PM

just because the dealer sold you those Cobb parts with the car deal doesn't mean they don't void any warranty repairs

Mitsubishi still has to approve all warranty work - and they have nothing to do with Cobb

but congratz anyway

Leopard May 7, 2011 12:58 PM

You paid way too much.

Still, you'll be happy with the car.
Enjoy

anEVOx May 7, 2011 12:59 PM

That price is way high. I honestly wouldn't even buy an already modded evo.

GiLizILL May 7, 2011 01:39 PM

If it came with a stage 2 clutch also, It'd be a sweet deal.

robertg May 7, 2011 02:34 PM

Yikes, I've been looking around for GSRs and that's a lot.

Kracka May 7, 2011 02:47 PM

Guys, you gotta remember that he bought the GSR SS+SL package which is ~$4k above a base GSR MSRP. I personally think he paid a fair price with all those mods.

Did you by chance buy the white one from Don Herring Mitsu's in Irving, TX showroom? I know he had a 2011 WW X GSR SS+SL with the full Cobb Stage 2 mods.

To all you naysayers, Don Herring Mitsu DOES honor the warranty even on modded cars; he has a great working relationship with his customers and Mitsu corp. My $4k transfer case job covered under warranty is proof of that. He's even told me that if you buy the Cobb Stage 2 mods from him and Mitsu corporate denies warranty coverage his dealership will cover the claim.

I agree with Kracka. That's a pretty fair price for those options and those mods. I'm not sure everyone is taking into account that the leather and S&S packages are additional over the base GSR. I wouldn't put much reliance on the warranty still with the mods.

If you add up what a GSR is with those packages plus how much those parts are, he paid MSRP for the car, and MSRP for the parts. How is that a good deal? He asked if there was a sweeter deal out there. IMO, yes there is, by far.

I paid $33.2k OTD for my 2011 GSR with SS package. You can't convince me that those parts + leather + supposed warranty that no other dealership in country will back is worth $7.8k.

Kracka May 7, 2011 03:04 PM

I just did the math and to me it looks like he paid $1k under MSRP/retail which includes the installation of the mods and a dealer (assuming he bought from Don Herring) willing to actually honor the warranty.

Steal of the century? No.
Fair deal? Yes.

In the end all that matters is the OP is happy, and judging by post #1 he is so congrats to him, enjoy the purchase!

Leopard May 7, 2011 04:44 PM

Yes.

He's a very lucky person! He'll enjoy his car tremendously, I'm sure.
