Options for turbo upgrade after you've already swapped downpipe/manifold?

I tried searching for this but didn't come up with much..

I don't want to invest money into a new downpipe, IC piping, manifold, etc. to find out that my parts don't line up or aren't compatible with a (insert some upgraded turbo).

Does a person end up having to completely re-do his intake/exhaust system based on the size turbo they use? I don't want to see all my money wasted modding the stock turbo to find out nothing fits up in the end? I'm repeating myself but I think you get the drift..

Basically, what parts should I not go for if I have any future with a larger turbo? I want to save money - not waste it. And waste my time having to redo mods on the car installing them.

Thanks,

Div

look for small fram turbos, uses everything the oem does. CBRD BBX lite, FP green, FP red, I think ETS has a small frame kit. Also MAP is soon to be releasing their small frame EF turbos. Check out Kracka's dyno he is beta testing their EF2. If you buy a "kit" most of the time the optional stuff your talkin about comes with it as a package.

What you want is a stock frame turbo.

Gotcha, so stick to stock framed turbos and all my mods should line up with it... that's great news..

Now my end-goal is about 400 to the ground on a dynojet.. I'm hoping there's stock framed turbos that can get me there with all the other supporting mods?

Haha. Any stock frame turbo car do that with a good tuner. Go look at Kracka's thread in the dyno section with his EF2. The thing spools exactly like stock and makes 400whp.
