Any safe tunes that don't void warranty?
 

Bought the car July, so far i've only worked on the exterior (Carbon Fiber Hood, Carbon fiber lip spoiler, mud guards)...any tunes to improve performance without voiding warranty? thanks

The OEM tune is the only tune that doesn't void warranty.

Modifying any car is like playing with fire. Sometimes you get burned, sometimes you don't. From my own personal experience, it depends on the dealership. I had a modded G35 and a modded Civic Si and still kept my warranty. However, I have been a loyal customer to this particular chain of dealers owned by the same person. I have always been super polite and courteous to service managers and have even bought them gifts when they serviced my car. Customer loyalty to important to some dealerships, so they will often work with you. Bottom line is to go reasonable on the mods and don't even think about bringing your car to get fixed under warranty if you blow up the motor...

pls elaborate on reasonable mods? sorry man i'm such a noob :)

I'm just planning on some bolt on mods and a tune, nothing too crazy.

Edit: The downpipe and high flow cat will almost certainly void the warranty.

Cat-back, intake, UICP, LICP, intercooler, possibly a test pipe or downpipe. Beyond that, when you go with cams, different turbo etc., most dealers see these things as problematic. But like I said, a lot depends on the dealership.

damn i guess my car will be a virgin for now...can't really afford it if something happens. some guy in the other forum or this forum can't remember which...had to rebuild for 8k ouch!

ill be waiting to mod the car till the car is paid off. only makes sense in my mind. That way if something does go wrong i can afford the grand or two grand no problem. No car payment equals money in the bank.

Just do UICP, intake and a catback with the cobb ap tune. These are easy mods to install and uninstall in case something goes wrong.

1. Go buy Access Port.
ECU reflash is best way to increase power anyway.
Also, When it comes to service you can go back to stock ECU.

2. Cat back exhaust also ok. There is no way that dealer can prove that cat back exhaust will damage engine.

3. Don't install Intake or any internal aftermarket parts in engine bay if you worry about warranty. It will avoid warranty, period. Dealer might say ok when you do service, but when you have problem with engine and they saw intake, then you are out of luck.

For me,
I don't trust dealers...F Them....
When stock parts break, it is time for stronger parts to replace!

I don't have much and have nice numbers. Plus easy to undo.

At least you are asking before doing. Like people said, if you flash the ecu, you have voided your warranty. Also remember that if you flashed with an access port, and then something breaks, and you put it back to stock, it's just going to appear a little unethical.
